Welcome to the “Mighty” 20th District, Department of Texas, The American Legion. Why is the “Mighty” 20th…..well, Mighty? We are one of the smallest Districts in area, just Bexar County, of the 22 Districts in the Department of Texas, but we are the largest District by membership in the Department of Texas. We are made up of 6,000 Veterans belonging to 19 Posts that set the standard of what an American Legion Post should be, devotion to Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism and Children and Welfare. Our Posts work hard to enhance the lives of our Veterans, Active Duty Military and Our Communities. We sponsor projects like visiting and auditing our VA Hospitals, offering use of our Veteran Service Officers to any Veteran, holding ceremonies on Veterans and Memorial Day to ensure we remember all of our Veterans and the Ones who made the ultimate sacrifice, prepare meals for our active duty Service Member for Thanksgiving, hold events in support of Operation Comfort Warrior, teach Flag Education, sponsor young men to attend Boys State, conduct Oratorical Contests for High School students, give scholarships and much, much more!! We are proud of all the we do but there is much more work to do!! If you are interested in supporting us or joining us, please contact myself or one of our local Posts.
